It’s hard to believe I’ve had this business for more than half my life.

Except for my sister, my Peace College girlfriends and a love for the Carolina Tar Heels, there are few bonds I’ve maintained for 30 years or more. And now I can add Sinclair & Co. to the list.

What started in my twenties as a lark between jobs soon morphed into a business. With employees. And hard-wired telephone systems. Four different office locations. A few expansions. A few contractions. Lots of sleepless nights. But lots more laughs, moments of pride and kudos for a job well done. It’s these last things that have kept me going.

Of course, I wouldn’t be here without the hundreds of clients who’ve trusted me and my team with their brands, their budgets, and their sometimes audacious goals. Thank you to you all.

I also wouldn’t be here without the invaluable partners and suppliers who have helped us to produce great work, on time and on budget. Thank you to you all, as well.

And to my team, past and present, you are proof that the key to success is to surround yourself with people who are smarter, harder working and more talented than you are. Thank you all for your contributions, your patience and your friendship. A special shout out to two of the best: Karen Stinneford, who was convinced I was trying to hire the wrong person. After almost 14 years, I’m glad you took the bait and equally glad you’ve been unable to find an arch nemesis while you’ve been here. And to Emily Almasy, without whom I would not have made it this far, thank you for running my business like your business. I couldn’t ask for a better partner in crime or work.

And lastly, thank you to my husband, Steve Davis, and son, Neill Blue Davis. For showing me that there are more important things in life than work. And nothing more important than family.
